
On the morning of August 28th, Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza Nanning opened it’s doors in grand fashion poised alongside the permanent venue of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO). This momentous event marks the first time that the Guangxi International Exhibition Group has cooperated with an international hotel chain to assist in the development of the Guangxi market. The occasion also furthers the ambition to perfect the software & hardware for the “Upgraded Edition” CAEXPO.
Attending the opening press conference were distinguished guests Mr. Lin Xinhe, deputy director of Guangxi Tourism Development Committee; Mr. Wang Lei, chairman of Guangxi International Exhibition Group; Mr. Hu Zhichung, General Manager of Guangxi International Exhibition Group; Mr. Richard Evans, Director of Operations of Greater China Hospitality (H.K.) Ltd.; Mr. Kyle Hayes, Director of Public Relations of Greater China Hospitality (H.K.) Ltd.; guest of ASEAN Consulates, as well as domestic and foreign media reporters. All were honored to have witnessed the magnificent blooming of the Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza Nanning.


During his opening remarks, General Manager of the Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza Nanning, Mr. Jimmy Wu, shared many of the project’s interesting features. As the 81st hotel opening for Greater China Hospitality (H.K.) Ltd., and the 59th Howard Johnson-branded property in China, the hotel boasts 321 rooms, 4 unique styles of restaurants, 2,900 square meters of conference venue, include Guangxi’s first super large, pillar-less fan-shaped ballroom. The rooftop infinity swimming pool offers splendid city views, and the hotel also has the first permanent independent Muslim kitchen in Nanning. Such unique selling points are testament to the hotel’s craftsmanship spirit and commitment to providing guests with a comfortable and unforgettable experience.

Mr. Lin Xinhe, deputy director of Guangxi Tourism Development Committee, exclaimed that the opening of Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza Nanning will inject new vitality into the hotel industry in Guangxi, speed up the pace of internationalization of Nanning, and better serve the socio-economic development of Guangxi and the open cooperation between China and ASEAN nations.

Mr. Hu Zhichung, General Manager of the Guanxi International Exhibition Group, said that the Guangxi Dongbo Hotel Management Co. Ltd. has fully entrusted the management and operation of the hotel to Greater China Hospitality (H.K.) Ltd. (GCH) first introduced the Howard Johnson brand to China with the cooperation of the Wyndham Hotel Group. Hotel business is an important sector for the Expo Group to open up to the world and build a bridge for international business. As an important part of the Convention and Exhibition City, the unique shape of Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza Nanning has become a new landmark of Nanning.
During the ceremony, the hotel also displayed creative space works to express the vision of developing “The Belt and Road” initiative, with titles like “Howard Johnson - Wonderful and Memorable”, “ASEAN Road - Beyond Excellence”, and “21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”, also featuring the unique products and traditional culture of Guangxi. At the same time, a splendid fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine was served on fine platters to the Opening’s distinguished guests. The event offered the true experience of international luxury brand standards and a taste of high-end hotel products and services.
